Teriyaki Sauce

Don't you hate when you have meat in the fridge and you have know idea what to make with it! I DO!!  I saw a restaurant commercial while pondering this idea and Teriyaki chicken came across the screen, after I wiped off the drool, then it was decided that's what we are having!  I remembered I came across a recipe a few years back and we both liked it.  I can't remember where I found this recipe but its one we kept and continue to use.

Teriyaki Sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce-I use reduce sodium
1 cup water
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/3 cup brown sugar
Mix all above together in sauce pan and heat it up

2 Tbsp corn starch
1/4 cup water
Mix together in separate bowl

When the sauce is warm stir in the cornstarch mixture until it thickens.  If it gets to thick just add a little bit more water.

I doubled this recipe.  I marinated my chicken for a few hours with half the sauce and put the other half in the fridge to dip in...yum yum
